Empress Meiji's Shrine, Harajuku, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku, Lunch at Shinjuku, Ebisu Garden Place, Shibuya!!! It was the day I found most of the places I wanted to go to and see. Loved Meiji Jinju although too bad it was raining when we went there, it could have looked better in pictures. After that, it was Harajuku, with all the flamboyant street fashion that kept my mom gaping at people. LOL. Then on to the 45th floor of the Metropolitan Building to see Tokyo in bird's eye view. We ate lunch in Shinjuku as well, then went to Ebisu. For those who watched Hana Yori Dango, that was were the date and wedding scenes were shot I think. And then finally Shibuya, where we got to see the people crossing the intersection from all directions at the same time. Got to shop and went looking around for gaming shops. I found the one I was looking for, and I found H&M and HMV too. And oh, I found an establishment with my name on it - Aira. Finally. Of all places, I didn't think I'll find it in Japan. We decided to stay til night in Shibuya just to see the lights.

Second Day, we went to the following places with the help of our goodwill guide Fumiko Satomi. :) We went on foot and by subway to everywhere you can only imagine how dead my feet were after everything. (But we even returned to Akihabara that night to buy my friends' toys). I loved walking around Tokyo and one thing I noticed was that Tokyo's land area is huge. Their parks are huge and the city is lined still with numerous huge green trees, which I loved. I think it's the main difference between Tokyo and Seoul. The trees.

* National Diet Building - This is where the lawmakers of Japan (who according to Miss Satomi said works only a few times a year O.O ) hold their sessions.

*Imperial Palace - 5km walk around, Miss Satomi gave us the deets on the gates of the place, but the whole time I kept wishing we came during spring instead - I would have loved to see Sakura blossom.

Tokyo Station - Saw an Accenture ad (picture and video) at Grandsta and was amused by the Elephant surfing thing

* Ueno Park - Went to see the Toshugu Shrine, the National Science Museum. Mom wanted me to pray for a lover. LOL. Lunch by Ueno Station - Don buri!

*Asakusa - Central Shrine, Nakahimse.I was giddy because apparently, incidentally, the day we went touring was also the day for the annual fireworks festival, so we got to see girls and guys in yukatas (summer kimonos). I got to know about this festival by watching jdramas and it was surreal being there while people in yukatas were piling in. We didn't get to witness the actual fireworks display because we had to get out of there before thousands more come and we get stranded in the subway.. which we almost did. LOL. It was amazing.

* Ginza - Think Rodeo Drive, Apgujeong, or Greenbelt 5. LOL. I was so amused with the Apple building and the Dior building the most. XD

^^ Yes all those places in one day. On foot.

Where: Narita Airport, Akasaka, Akihabara

I finally learned why they say Akihabara was the heaven for otakus (anime / manga / gadget / game addicts). I myself, who was not interested in games or anime since I was kid was in awe when I saw all those Gundam stockpiled in one of the floors of the huge Akihabara Electronic District mall. O.O

My foot does not separate from the ground.
I'm simply afraid.
I'm afraid to fly to the sky.
Because I'm used to the ground, sky is unfamiliar place.
Don't I have the wings?
Don't I have the dreamer before?

After Gyeongbukgung, we went to Lotte Mall first to eat and I chanced upon some really expensive (well for me, they were expensive) MOCHI which I have been craving for, for about a year now. Too bad they don't have the boxed ones. T.T I WANT MORE MOCHI. T.T We decided to go down to Myeongdong (again) to find more food and shop before heading to the Namsan Cable Car building before sunset. I really wanted to witness the sunset while on the cable car, but it was really cloudy. sad.

Anyways, on our way to ride the cable car to the top of Namsan, we realized that our guesthouse is only about 50 meters away from there. LOL.

If you watched Boys Over Flowers, this is where Junpyo and Jandi got stranded - and seeing the actual thing made me realize that it's another plothole in the drama. Nobody can get in those cars when it's sealed and they would have really frozen to death (now you know why I didn't finish BOF = poor script, and I couldn't stand the editing O.O ).

Anyways, when we finally got to N Seoul tower, we saw that there's a Teddy Bear Museum which I originally thought was just in Jeju, and THAT area where lovers write their vows on padlocks and then leave those padlocks there forever (to rust LOL). Sorry, I think Carol and I were being really bitter when we were there. LOL. I think it's the wrong place for single people to go to. LOL. There were lovers everywhere. And it was really mushy. haha.

Well, the highlight of our destination was the observatory wherein you can see the whole City from the top of the tower, on top of the mountain. It was amazing, especially at night when all the lights are on and the floors are all sparkly. XD We had so fun much, we didn't want to go down until it was closing time. :D Too bad my camera ran out of batteries. I only managed to capture the lightshow on the grounds through my phone. Another place worth going back to. :)

Gyeongbok Palace :D

We dubbed our fourth day in Seoul as 'Enjoy Day' because we didn't get that tired, plus the places we visited were REALLY worth every penny we spent to traveling to Seoul. :) I remember waking up late because of late night downloading (took advantage of Korea's high speed internet LOL) and feeling really apologetic to Carol sis who woke up really early because we were planning to go to the palace at 9am. We wish. LOL. We had a lot of rest though, which was saying something since we were running around like crazy for the past three days.

We arrived in Gyeokbukgung station around noon and found that particular subway station, the most beautiful out of all the ones we've been to (believe me, Seoul has more than a hundred of them, it seems). We took pictures in the station, once again announcing to the whole of Korea that we were tourists. haha.

We arrived at the palace just in time to witness the Changing of the Guards ceremony - which my mom told me not to miss while I was in SK. It was amusing to watch and we had a blast taking pictures with the ancient warrior wardrobe clad actors. :)

Gyeongbok Palace was astounding. I originally thought it wasn't as huge, but I was so wrong. IT WAS DEFINITELY HUGE. and DEFINITELY BEAUTIFUL. We really enjoyed taking pictures of the structures, and fooling around the walls. We also got the chance to don a traditional hanbok, which was like a dream come true for me because I originally wanted to take home one but it was unreasonably (at least for me) expensive = around $200 each. We got 5 minutes to wear them and take pictures with the Gyeonghoeru Pavilion in the background. And thanks to Carol sis, I had this 'Shutterbug with a DSLR' shot which she took while I was photographing some Germans. Brilliant, sis, just brilliant :)

I took us around 2-3 hours I think, to finish the whole tour. It was really fun. Definitely one of the places I would go back too. :)

Day two of sight-seeing a.k.a. Gastos Day. We went to the famous Insadong (after getting lost again) to shop for pasalubong, mostly traditional goodies. My feet were still hurting from its adventures the day before so we stopped to eat and then went to attend mass in the beautiful Myeongdong Cathedral since it was a Sunday. We ended our day by shopping abit AGAIN in Myeongdong since our guesthouse was within the area.

Still taken on the first sight-seeing day, after the Korean Folk village. We rushed to catch a bus to the Paldamun Gate of the fortress in Suwon from the KFV. Yet again, we got lost, even though we're following strict instructions, we apparently started on the wrong gate and only realized it halfway through the 6-kilometer fortress. T.T The place was really astounding though, a fortress amidst the busy city. I'm so amazed that they managed to preserve most of their historical spots. O.O Because we went in and started at the wrong gate, we had to ditch the remaining path and asked around for a short cut to the Hwanghomun Palace, the filming location of Jewel in the Palace.

From the eventful first part of my South Korea trip with my friend Carol. If I was a diehard fan of Saeguk dramas I would have died, since this was where a lot of them were filmed, and the day we were there, there was an actual drama shooting. O.O We had lots of fun going around the place though. Even though we got lost alot at first. The Seoul subway system is so amazing, it's scary. LOL.

LOL. I made this this afternoon because I was bored and I wanted to test my PS-ing skills. And also because I was kinda nostalgic. I can't believe it will almost be a year since this picture was taken (May 14th 2008, Disney California Adventure, Anaheim, CA).

I miss messing around with my baby brothers.

And so that Earl won't be mad because I'm posting this pic of his that he finds hideous (what, EJ doesn't look any better LOL) I'm gonna put a disclaimer:

MY BROTHERS DO NOT ALWAYS LOOK AS RETARDED AS THIS. IN FACT, THEY'RE USUALLY VERY GOOD-LOOKING...

Highlights from our Coron trip last January 16-19, 2009. This is from day one. Came with my ABAP and Skywalker friends. Had a blast. I think Coron is more beautiful than Boracay because it has much more to offer, aside from the white sand beaches, there are also the glorious coral reefs and underwater life, the beautiful mountains and lakes. Everything. One of my best out of town trips ever.

Day One: Caliwantay Beach, Twin Lagoon, Lake Barracuda, Cayangan Lake, Siete Pecados, Makinit Hotspring.

We had almost 1900 pix from this trip, thanks to Medel and his underwater, bring-it-wherever camera. I also took a lot because the scenery was just too beautiful not to preserve.

"For what it's worth, it's never too late, or in my case too early - to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit; stop whenever you want. You can change, or stay the same - there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again. "

* 'i think God sent you to me' - HJ
* i loved the album version, but the live one is brilliant too.

Sara Bareilles - Gravity

Something always brings me back to you.
It never takes too long.
No matter what I say or do I’ll still feel you here ’til the moment I’m gone.

You hold me without touch.
You keep me without chains.
I never wanted anything so much than to drown in your love and not feel your rain.

[CHORUS]
Set me free, leave me be. I don’t want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I’m supposed to be.
But you’re on to me and all over me.

You loved me ’cause I’m fragile.
When I thought that I was strong.
But you touch me for a little while and all my fragile strength is gone.

[CHORUS]
Set me free, leave me be. I don’t want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I’m supposed to be.
But you’re on to me and all over me.

I live here on my knees as I try to make you see that you’re everything I think I need here on the ground.
But you’re neither friend nor foe though I can’t seem to let you go.
The one thing that I still know is that you’re keeping me down
